Ten new startups moved into our accelerator on Monday. Their founders come from all over the world. They are young yet experienced with a lot of hours of work and thought and some successful ventures under their belt. We feel lucky for the chance to work with such an experienced and diverse group of people.
Also we are very happy to welcome three startups from Poland into our accelerator. Our road trip to Poland evidently payed off and we are already planning the next adventure.

Artist in Residence
During my residency at Plug&Play, I will be developing a video project focusing on Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film Berlin Alexanderplatz, the adaptation of Alfred Döblin’s novel.
Hex(os), a virtual reality platform, will help me create Franz Biberkopf’s avatar so that a fictional representation of the story’s main character will explore a digital representation of the past, more specifically of Berlin during the 1920s. The technology will collect data informing on the character’s life at the time around Alexanderplatz. I am hoping to get access to the Axel Springer archive in order to draw a more accurate representation of the character’s context.
With the collected data, I will be able to compose a new interpretation of Franz Biberkopf’s story, an algorithm driven scenario. I will reshoot selected scenes from Fassbinder’s movie and inform them with anomalies, things virtual reality decided to focus on.
